11. Do you believe Jesus to be God or the Son of God?
Bible says that Jesus is God, and the Bible says that Jesus is also the Son of Go d, as follows:
In John
20:28, Thomas called Jesu s,
"My Lord and my God!" and
John chapter 1 identifies Jesu s as the "Word"
who "became flesh and dwelt among us" (John
1:14)
and declares that, "the Word was God"
(John 1:1).
In John 8:58,
Jesu s called Himself, "I AM", the name Go d called Himself in the Old Testament:
"Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to
the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has
sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I
say to them?” And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus
you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’"
(Exodus 3:13-14).
In
Luke 17:18, the Samaritan man "returned" to
Jesu s "to give glory
to God" after being healed by Jesu s, and
Luke 8:38-39 clearly equates the "great things God has done for you" with
the "great things Jesus had done for him".
Biblical evidences of Jesu s also being the Son of God are throughout the New Testament.
