from Mitt Romney's Religious Beliefs...) But the most troubling beliefs of Mormonism - beliefs that Mitt Romney taught as a Mormon missionary, beliefs that Mitt Romney upheld as a Mormon High Priest and the beliefs that Mitt Romney is loathe to discuss today - concern Jesus and Satan.
Central to Mitt Romney's Mormon beliefs is the abominable lie that Jesus is the brother of Satan. According to Mitt Romney's Mormon beliefs, the two brothers had competing plans. God the Father sided with Jesus, who performed well and turned into a god, while Satan, also known as Lucifer, rebelled against them and turned into their enemy.
According to these Mormon beliefs, Jesus is not the Creator God but merely a creature, and Mormons who adhere to Mormonism will one day also become gods (see Mormon cult); Mitt Romney's good deeds in this life are intended to turn him into God someday.
Are such Mormon beliefs really the beliefs of Mitt Romney?
“I believe in my Mormon faith, and I endeavor to live by it. My faith is the faith of my fathers. I will be true to them and to my beliefs." (Mitt Romney, December 6, 2007)
There is no greater blasphemy than believing and teaching that Jesus, our perfectly Holy God, is the brother of Satan, the perfectly evil enemy of God. And the fallacy that a creature can become the Creator is what turned Lucifer, a former angel, into Satan, and is therefore Satanic.
Mormonism tends to have a nice facade. Most Mormons are clean cut, speak and behave well. Behind the facade, however, is a group whose beliefs can only be described as those of a Satanic cult.
During the 2008 presidential campaign, we repeatedly asked Mitt Romney if he believed Jesus and Satan were brothers (see question #15 below)*. Given the above, it is no surprise that he did not answer and has yet to answer our questions for 2012 as he was also invited.
